Expectation by Anna Hope
Expectation is Anna Hopes debut novel following three friends from childhood into their 40’s. It discusses female friendship and the pressure for women to do it all. This is an easy read with a bit of scandal to keep you interested.
I did find the writing a bit obvious and cliched in some places, but found the discussions around fertility and the decision making process a woman makes around whether to become a mother, or not, a really positive modern focus point. It reminded me a lot of the HBO series Girls.
